To ensure the safety of their

British Gas is the UK's largest provider of domestic boiler and
heating servicing and repair cover. The company also employs
the largest number of trained heating engineers in the UK to
carry out their boiler installations, maintenance and repair work
for their customers.
This service provision is the cornerstone of the British Gas offering to their customers. The company employs over 10,000
engineers, of which 8,500 use the flue gas analyser to help them complete their work first time and every time.
British Gas has always been market leaders when it comes to investing in innovative technology to improve their service,
provide a higher standard of work, become more efficient and to increase levels of safety for their customers and
employees. For this reason, they use flue gas analysers, including Telegan Sprint analysers, to ensure their customers’
boilers are left running efficiently and safely.
In 2012, most of the flue gas analysers in the British Gas fleet were reaching the end of their planned operational life.
This led to a requirement for 8500 instruments, to be supplied over an 8 month period from October 2012 through to May
Their priorities were for an analyser that performed to the industry standards (BS:EN50379) and that could withstand the
rigours of use in the field; in British Gas' case up to 10 services a day, every day for the 6 year period of operation. With
8,500 engineers to train on new equipment, units also needed to be intuitive and easy to use. They had to be simple and
cost effective to maintain and service as well. British Gas rigorously performance tested flue gas analysers in-house at
their training academy. They also used BSI to performance test the instruments independently.
The result was the purchase of 8500 Telegan Sprint eVo units.
Jim McCormack, Logistics manager at British Gas, said: "British Gas is committed to using the latest technology to ensure
our customers receive the best service. It’s now been more than a year since the first Sprint eVo analysers were delivered
to our engineers and we’re extremely pleased with the performance of the unit out in the field."
